Sciatica

For years, I suffered with sciatica pain (back pain), which occurred when the sciatic nerve running from the hip down the leg was aggravated. I tried all kinds of things to alleviate the pain, including anti-inflammatories, belts and magnets my sister, who also has a bad back, gave me. But when Dr. Penny gave me a homeopathic remedy, it became a thing of the past. It was a miracle.

Sciatica

Several years ago I was suffering from sciatica. I had seen a chiropractor and acupuncturist, both of whom helped reduce the pain, but it wasn’t going away. I saw my conventional medical doctor and had an X-ray, which showed that there was nothing structurally wrong. Remedy delivery

Dr. Penny has treated a number of my health concerns. The different types of Naturoptahic Medicinal options available are amazing. What’s been even more surprising and beneficial to my health care are the various types of delivery methods. Having had only been exposed to Western medicine, I was used to taking pills. This is generally a problem because I have trouble swallowing. Under Penny’s care, this has not been an issue. In fact, several of my health care problems are now being addressed as a result of this. I have since learned that Naturopathic treatments come in a variety of methods. Above all, the delivery methods are easy to take and can be tailored to my needs:

needles (acupuncture and injections)

powders

Post Partum Depression

I asked Dr. Penny whether she had anything that could help with my post-partum depression. I’d suffered from it after the births of both of my children, and I had been prescribed Zoloft after the birth of my second child, 3 1/2 years before. I wanted to be able to go without it. After just one dose of a remedy I felt so much better that I reduced my dose of Zoloft to a minimal dose within 3 weeks. As I was stable at that dose, and coming off Zoloft can trigger withdrawal symptoms, I gradually took a minimal dose less and less often. I was completely off Zoloft, without any return of feelings of depression, after 2 or 3 months.

Pneumonia

I first saw Dr. Penny when I had pneumonia. Because of an allergic reaction to the prescribed antibiotics I couldn’t complete that treatment and wanted a different method of healing for the difficulty breathing, and pain and weakness in my chest. She gave me a homeopathic remedy and some immune boosters and I started to feel better within hours. I was completely better in 2-3 days.

Neck pain and stiffness due to arthritis

I was experiencing pain, tingling and stiffness in my neck, shoulders, arms and hands that intensified for over a year before I was X-rayed and diagnosed with minor arthritis in my three cervical vertebrae. The medical opinion was this was “normal deterioration”. My discomfort was labelled as out of proportion, and my doctor offered me anti-inflammatory drugs.

Instead, I sought Dr. Penny’s advice. She started me on a homeopathic remedy. Relief was almost immediate! Within three days, the pain, stiffness and burning sensation were gone. Over the next four years, I continued with the same treatment. The time between doses of the remedy kept increasing until I only needed a dose or two every few months. For over a year, I haven’t experienced any of those symptoms, or needed to take the remedy.

I have been one of Dr. Penny’s patients for over five years and primarily use homeopathy to treat mine and my child’s chronic and acute health issues. I constantly use naturopathic and homeopathic treatments to help reduce and manage the symptoms I have experienced while living with chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PSTD ), environmental sensitivities, and irritable bowel disorder. There are no allopathic treatments for these conditions other than pharmaceutical drugs. I have found homeopathics to be the most immediate, effective and non-invasive treatment.

As I continue to take responsibility for and actively engage in the process of my healing and well-being, I am profoundly grateful for the naturopathic care Dr. Penny provides to me and my family. I find Dr. Penny’s approach compassionate and sensitive, as well as soundly based on her deep and exact knowledge of the entire range of treatments she prescribes.

Mononucleosis – Epstein Barr Virus

After my daughters grade 12 graduation, she mentioned that she had a sore throat and felt very tired. I treated her symptoms thinking it was just a common cold but after a few days when she wasn’t feeling any better, I decided to take her the MediCentre. A couple of days later, we were informed she had contracted Mono.

The GP’s prescription was to rest but also stating there was nothing else to help her recover. I quickly made an appointment for my daughter and I to visit Dr. Penny Seth-Smith. In Dr. Penny’s office, she asked my daughter many questions and then started muscle testing to see which remedies my daughter’s body required to fight this virus (Is this a virus Penny?). Dr. Penny was also able to muscle test the vitamins which I took along to the visit to determine which ones were beneficial and the required dosages per day.

When we left her office that day I had no idea that my daughter was going to start improving so quickly. After 4 days of following Dr. Penny’s recovery plan, my daughter had life in her again. She was feeling good, with her normal energy level and was back to doing everything in her life like usual.

From my understanding the recovery time when someone contracts mono is weeks to months, but with Dr. Penny counsel, my daughter was back to normal so much quicker than anyone expected.

It was amazing!
